Our Story
Borough Chocolates was founded in the heart of Brooklyn, New York in August of 2020 by Jessica Minghi. Jessica’s career was spent building over the past couple decades in bakeries and Michelin fine dining in the Bay Area and New York City. After being abruptly laid off amidst the pandemic, the intrigue and interest in chocolate blossomed into what we are now able to call our first brick and mortar shop. Starting with small batch chocolates from home and selling directly to buyers through social media and other outlets, the project quickly outgrew home production, and our Greenpoint storefront was opened in the Fall of 2022.
The name Borough Chocolates was decided upon in effort to showcase the importance of the location where the company began its brick & mortar journey.
Born amidst Covid, our chocolates are skillfully crafted in one of the five Boroughs of New York City. A bustling city with rich history- full of diversity and inspiration. Quietly tucked away in Brooklyn, we are proudly serving our Greenpoint community for over four years.
With a strong European influence and timeless inspirations, Borough Chocolates invigorates confections reminiscent of both the new & old world. Adding a classy twist to modernized food.
At Borough Chocolates, we strive to deliver an elevated culinary experience using unique & familiar flavors. By showcasing these bold and diverse flavors profiles through the quality of our products and couverture. We have teamed up with Michel Cluizel Chocolate, (in addition to Valrhona and Cacao Barry). By combining our timeless love for fine food and fine art, we merge these two worlds for captivating, unique, and luxurious chocolates.
